Math Support Specialist (1001537)

Description The Neenah Joint School District is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Elementary Math Support Specialist, for the 2026-2027 school year. As a Math Support Specialist, you will provide supportive tier 2 and tier 3 interventions within the MLSS framework and serve as a building math coach to improve student learning outcomes using highly effective instructional practices. Work cooperatively with professional staff to lead, coordinate, and facilitate the development and implementation of:Highly effective research-based math instructional practices at the district, school, and classroom level.The district adopted math curricula with fidelity using high leverage instructional practices that successfully meet the needs of all students.Screen students, analyze assessment data, and maintain accurate records of student progress to guide instruction and adjust interventions.Develop intervention plans, schedule, and implement intensive, small-group or individualized instruction focused on number sense and mathematical foundational skills.Work with classroom teachers, special education staff, and administrators to analyze, interpret, and act upon student data (formative and summative) to differentiate instruction.Work with teachers to refine instructional techniques, co-plan lessons, and co-teach to improve student learning outcomes.Communicate with families regarding student program placement, progress and provide strategies for home support.Participate in IEP evaluations of students and LST when necessary.Facilitate district, school-wide and small-group math training on pedagogy, curricula, and content knowledge.Such other duties may be determined by the administrative staff within parameters of the master agreement, Board of Education policies, state statutes, and administrative rules. QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in education, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution.Certification: Valid Wisconsin teaching license in Elementary Education (Grades K-5 or K-8).Deep conceptual understanding of early numeracy (Mathematics Minor preferred)Understanding about how to work with elementary-aged students (Three years of classroom teaching experience preferred)Math Recovery Intervention Specialist certification or willingness to obtain certificationUnderstanding of research based "best" instructional practices in mathematicsUnderstanding of strategies for differentiating classroom instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of at-risk math studentsStrong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively with other professionalsPriority will be given to those individuals with proven classroom success of the Bridges curriculum,with AVMR and/or Math Recovery.
