{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"def6006a9d2a578312b73c3d","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/def6006a9d2a578312b73c3d","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/def6006a9d2a578312b73c3d","title":"Lab Assistant","description":"Job Title: Production Laboratory Assistant - FT\nReports To: Production Manager/Production Director Position is: Full-Time /Hourly Starting FT Hourly Pay: $18.00/hr. to $22.00/hr. based on experience\nFrederick, MD\n1st Shift\nSummary of Position:\nReporting to the Production Manager/ Production Director, this Full-Time Production Laboratory Assistant position is responsible for supporting and working in a team environment in the Production facility.\nManufacturing and testing bacteriological media and liquid solutions used primarily in microbiology laboratories to grow or dilute microbiology samples.\nThe Production Laboratory Assistant will be trained in all aspects of the manufacturing process including running large media preparation machinery, agar plate pouring equipment and working in an aseptic environment to the highest standards.\nThe Production facility is ISO 9001 compliant, and the Production Laboratory Assistant will be required to assist in documentation generation, utilization and maintenance for continuous monitoring and efforts to improve the manufacturing process in the Production facility.\nThe Production Laboratory Assistant will also be expected to learn basic bacteriology techniques required to perform sterility and performance Quality Control testing of the components and final products manufactured for sale in the Production facility.\nThe Production Laboratory Assistant will be expected to be energetic, professional, self-motivated to ensure the Production Department delivers consistent, sterile, high-quality products to fulfill sales orders and to ensure the Quality System is maintained and is driven to improve our ongoing service to our customers.\nEssential Job Duties & Responsibilities:\nFulfill the requirements of the Production schedule as directed by the Production Manager or Production Director.\nWork within the framework of the Quality System to maintain and improve the Quality of Service we deliver to our customers\nGenerate and complete the required documentation to record and monitor the production process. \nCheck instruments and hardware on a regular basis, as outlined in the Quality System, to ensure compliance with required operations and to function within defined tolerances\nMaintain files and logs of production document and regular checks to ensure that the equipment is still performing within specified tolerances\nEnsure that the Production facility is regularly cleaned and sanitized to avoid build-up of biofilm and niches for bacteria to proliferate.\nLearn basic bacteriology in order to perform sterility and performance testing on components and final products if needed.\nUse Windows based computer programs to generate reports and to communicate with the rest of the Company via e-mail.\nMaintain a professional attitude and wear appropriate clothing to enable the performance of laboratory functions required in the Production facility.\nAttend internal meetings where deemed appropriate by the Production Manager.\nAssist with in-house demonstrations\nMaintain a professional relationship with other staff members, customers, industry contacts and vendors necessary in the best interest of the company and in conformity with objectives and policy Perform other related duties as require\nEducation, Skills & Experience:\nBasis laboratory knowledge is required.\nThe individual must be organized with strong written communication and analytical skills. The position requires self-motivated individuals with a positive and professional attitude. The Production Laboratory Assistant must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. The position requires a quick learner, hard worker with the ability to work independently. Goal oriented with excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: Work within an automated laboratory environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues. Position requires the ability to use office equipment and computers. It requires the ability to stand, walk and sit for 8 hours a day. Must have the ability to use hands to manipulate, handle, feel and control items, equipment and computers. Ability to walk, bend, kneel and reach with minimal lifting requirements. Ability to talk, hear and communicate with staff and customers over the telephone.
