Art Teacher- Day Program

*Job Title:* Art Teacher Please make an application promptly if you are a good match for this role due to high levels of interest. *Program Type:* Day Program *Employment Type:* [Full-Time] *Reports To:* Program Director *Position Summary:* We are seeking a creative, patient, and enthusiastic *Art Teacher* to lead engaging and inclusive art activities for participants in our Day Program. The Art Teacher will plan and facilitate a variety of visual arts projects that support creativity, self-expression, and skill development in a supportive, structured environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about the arts and experienced in working with diverse populations. *Key Responsibilities:** Plan and lead age- and ability-appropriate art classes, including drawing, painting, mixed media, crafts, and more * Foster a welcoming and encouraging environment that promotes creativity, independence, and self-esteem * Adapt lessons to meet the individual needs and abilities of program participants * Provide one-on-one support as needed during class activities * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe art room or studio space * Manage art supplies and inventory, making requests for replenishments as needed * Display participant artwork in common areas or help coordinate art showcases or exhibits * Collaborate with other program staff to integrate art activities with overall program goals * Monitor and document participant progress and engagement * Uphold all program safety policies and guidelines * Attends, participates and conducts self professionally in staff meetings and in-services. * Works cooperatively with colleagues and supervisors * Ensures that clients are safe and supervised at all times. xywuqvp * Document client’s attendance progress and participation * Carries out any other special duties assigned. *Qualifications:** Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Art, Art Education, or related field preferred * Experience teaching art in a classroom or community setting, especially with adults with disabilities, seniors—adjust based on the program * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to modify and adapt lessons for individuals with varying abilities * Patient, flexible, and creative approach to instruction * Background check and relevant clearances required Job Type: Full-time Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 35 per week Benefits: * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Ability to Commute: * Huntington Beach, CA 92649 (Required) Ability to Relocate: * Huntington Beach, CA 92649: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
