POSITION TITLE
General Accounting Analyst
POSITION OVERVIEW
This position helps to execute the accounting activities at a corporate level and ensure the company is compliant with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). The role is located at the company’s corporate headquarters and reports directly to the General Accounting Manager. The work schedule is Monday – Friday (hybrid), 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Any travel would be minimal.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the accounting and monitoring of global intercompany balances
Lead accounting and monitoring for ASC 842 (Leases), manage lease database, prepare periodic entries, perform reconciliations, and prepare activity summaries
Assist with the accounting of the company’s investment portfolio
Participate in period and year-end closings, including audits and balance sheet account reconciliations
Ensure accuracy, propriety, and completeness of accounting closings and audits in accordance with US GAAP, to include posting journal entries
Assist with evaluating accounting policies and procedures, internal controls, and compliance with US GAAP
Ensure general ledger account reliability
Research US GAAP for accounting matters as necessary
Assist with the identification and coordination of enhancements to current business processes
Investigate and act upon requests, suggestions, and/or questions concerning accounting policies and office operations
Perform other duties as assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERRED
CPA
SAP experience
Public accounting experience (2-3+ years)
Accounting experience with manufacturing companies
Proactive and self-motivated
