Installer I
We are seeking an entry-level Installer I to support telecommunications installation, maintenance, and servicing activities in the field. This role works closely with a Lead Installer and is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on technical work, travel opportunities, and working with network infrastructure equipment.The Installer I will assist with cable installation, equipment mounting, quality control, and job-site support while following strict safety and industry standards.Installer I – TelecommunicationsLocation: Kansas City, MOEmployment Type: Contract-to-HireCompensation: $22–$24/hourTravel & Schedule RequirementsMust be able to travel approximately 50%–75%Overnight travel may last 1–2 weeks at a time, including occasional weekendsFlexibility to work:Early morning shiftsOccasional eveningsInfrequent weekendsReliable transportation requiredMust be able to transport basic job-related toolsKey ResponsibilitiesFollow all company safety procedures and properly use PPEInstall, terminate, label, and lace cables according to industry standardsMount racks, frames, shelves, and telecommunications hardwareAdd or remove non-powered equipment and hardwareRead and follow installation documentation and work instructionsMaintain quality standards and support quality control processesTrack and inventory job-related materialsCommunicate professionally with customers and team membersAccurately record work hours using time-tracking softwarePhysical RequirementsLift up to 50 lbs regularly and 100 lbs occasionallyWork on ladders and in confined spacesSafely work around electrical wiring and ESD-sensitive equipmentPerform physical tasks including:BendingKneelingSquattingCrawlingPushing and pullingStrong manual dexterity and fine motor skills requiredRequired Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalentCompletion of a Basic Installation training course or equivalent hands-on experienceStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityBasic understanding of network products and telecommunications equipmentFamiliarity with industry standards such as:AT&T TP-76300 / 76409Telcordia GR1275Verizon IP72202Comfortable using computers, tablets, and Microsoft OfficeStrong troubleshooting and communication skillsValid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and proof of insurancePreferred Qualifications2 years of electronics training from a technical trade school or military backgroundExperience with telecommunications or network infrastructure environments
