{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"dec209cf26e6bd9df745a458","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/dec209cf26e6bd9df745a458","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/dec209cf26e6bd9df745a458","title":"Data Engineer","description":"Overview/ Job Responsibilities:\n\nEntarian is looking for a Data Engineer for the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Ordnance Information System (OIS) to provide technical expertise on a mission-critical program whose purpose is to develop, modernize, enhance, operate, and maintain services for OIS mission critical systems.\n\nAs Data Engineer you will work on a team consisting of Data and Cloud Architects, Engineers, and Administrators and focus on designing, building, deploying, and maintaining data architectures and databases in the AWS GovCloud environment.\n\nREMOTE: Possibility of up to 10% Travel required - Client meetings in Mechanicsburg, PA, and/or Yorktown, VA\n\nSalary Range: $125,000 - $150,000\n\nPrimary Responsibilities:\n\nThe Data Engineer will be responsible for the following:\n\nDevelop, construct, test, and maintain high performance, scalable, and stable data architectures for OIS, such as databases and large-scale processing systems, and migrate data from on-premises databases to cloud-based solutions, transforming the data as required.\nDevelop and maintain scalable data pipelines and build out new API integrations, ensure that data pipelines are scalable, repeatable, and secure.\nImplement and manage databases and data delivery systems and transform them into insights, analysis, and reporting.\nIdentify, research, design, develop, and promote solutions that enhance the modern development environment to ensure systems meet business requirements and industry best practices.\nImplement the data extraction, data load, and database synchronization routines and functions ETL.\nImplement data governance and quality controls and monitor ETL/ELT jobs to ensure performance and halt any potential issues.\nImprove system performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new elements and ensure all data platform solutions adhere to confidentiality and privacy requirements.\nCollaborate with data scientists, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that the data infrastructure supports required functions and performance metrics.\nDesign, model, document, and guide the logical and conceptual relationship of data and database changes.\nDocument data architecture and systems for both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.\nPerform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk assessments.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nMust have DOD Secret level clearance to start (with willingness and ability for T3 upgrade to T5 background investigation); U.S. Citizen required only for Federal Clearance Requirement\nCertification Requirements: Directive 8570.1/8140 - IAT II:\nBaseline Certification: Security+\nComputing Environment Certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Data Engineer or similar equivalent Cloud environment certification or Oracle Database Certified Associate or equivalent Database Certification (highly preferred to have in hand upon applying; if not, must obtain within 3 months of start)\nBA/BS (in Engineering, Computer Science or related field) or equivalent experience and 10+ years of prior relevant experience or master’s with 8+ years or prior relevant experience.\nExperience with implementing data warehousing concepts, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and tools (e.g., Pentaho)\nExperience with developing and administrating in PostreSQL\nStrong proficiency in SQL and experience with other querying languages.\nExperience in decomposition of Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures and triggers to migrate to Amazon Aurora DB, Postgres, or MySQL\nProven, hands‑on expertise in data modeling, schema design, and database optimization, with the ability to design, implement, and optimize complex data structures in production environments.\nKnowledge of data security and compliance best practices.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nMust be a self-starter and have the ability to work independently with little supervision.\nDesired Qualifications:\nHighly preferred DOD Top Secret level clearance to start (fully adjudicated T5 background investigation)\nExperience with GitLab, Liquibase, CI/CD pipelines highly preferred\nExperience with big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Debezium, RabbitMQ, etc.\nDemonstrated experience in network and cyber security design, engineering and operations with emphasis on Navy capabilities\nNavy experience\nExperience with cloud data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)\nExperience with Cloud Relational Database Services (e.g, AWS RDS, Aurora DB)\nSAFe experience and knowledge\nExperience with Data warehousing and Business Intelligence tools such as RedShift, MicroStrategy, Erwin Data Modeler, etc.\nExperience with one or more programming languages like Python, Java, Scala, or Go.\nAbout Us:\n\nFormed through the strategic union of Sev1Tech and ERT, Entarian is a premier provider of mission-critical engineering and technology solutions.
