Anticipated High School Math TeacherDescription:Teachers at Everett High School are responsible for utilizing research-based pedagogical strategies to teach math and engage diverse groups of students utilizing district approved high quality instructional materials (HQIM). Teachers must work collaboratively with the Special Education and English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers and support staff throughout the year to continually improve the experience and performance of our students. Teachers should be well-versed in providing accommodations for students whose IEPs dictate inclusion services in several content area settings. Teachers should also be well versed in Sheltered English Instruction (SEI) practices to support English Learners as well as culturally responsive practices to promote equity and respect for all students.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, and/or EducationMassachusetts Teaching Licensure in Mathematics 9-12SEI EndorsementPreferred Requirements:Master's Degree in Education, Business, and/or Mathematics3 or more years of teaching experienceExperience working in an urban public schools settingForeign Language ProficiencyDual Licensure in Special Education and/or English as a Second LanguageDuties:Plan and facilitate lessonsUse all available technology and virtual curricula provided by the district to create engaging math lessons that are linked with 21st Century skills and remote accessibilityManage classroom behavior with Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies that motivate students and limit disruptionsAdminister assessments and utilize available data to make instructional decisions that target the academic and linguistics needs of students including MCAS, and ACCESS, as well as district-wide formative assessmentsUtilize inclusive practices and SEI strategies for students on IEPs and English LearnersIncorporate language of math activities into math instruction including Speaking, Reading, and Writing that align with State Standards for Language ProficiencyUtilize available data to make instructional decisions that target the academic and linguistics needs of studentsCommunicate with student families regularly using culturally responsive strategies that promote two-way conversationsAssist in ordering and managing supplies necessary for math classroomsEmploy a strong growth mindset and participate in professional development that is relevant to the challenges of urban education to close opportunity gapsCollaborate with guidance counselors to refer students who require Social Emotional supportCollaborate with Special Education leadership and teacher colleagues to review IEPs and ensure all accommodations are properly and consistently deliveredContribute to school-wide initiatives and events which may be assigned by the Director of STEM, Principal, and Assistant Principal.Salary:Salary for this position will be based on the Everett Teachers Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. -SY 26-27 Pay Range - $65,178-$125,654.The Everett Public Schools, in accordance with its nondiscrimination policies, does not discriminate in its programs, facilities, or employment or educational opportunities on the basis of race, color, age, criminal record (inquiries only), disability, homelessness, sex/gender, gender identity, religion, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, genetics or military status, and does not tolerate any form of retaliation, or bias-based intimidation, threat or harassment that demeans individuals' dignity or interferes with their ability to learn or work.
