Acts as the Processing Supervisor in his/her absence; and other duties as assigned.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nKeeps track of the daily dental school log and registers patients in GE IDX.\nAids in training of new employees.\nAssumes the basic duties of the supervisor in their absence.\nOrders all appropriate tests in LIS system.\nRegisters all drop-off specimens in GE IDX.\nEnsures the correct tubes and specimen containers have been submitted or collected for the appropriate test ordered and are labeled correctly.\nEnsures CAP, UMPA, and GLP (when appropriate ) guidelines are followed during processing procedures.\nDetermines specimen acceptability.\nSpins, separates, stores and distributes specimens to the appropriate area in the lab.\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred\nFive years of experience in a medical laboratory setting is preferred\nTotal Rewards\nThe referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/training and other qualifications.
