The instructor will ensure effective classroom management, monitor student progress, and promote learners' transition opportunities.Key Responsibilities:* Deliver basic skills instruction to adults, applying adult learning principles, competency-based education, and college readiness standards.* Utilize designated curriculum for the Paraprofessional Educator program (Waubonsee Community College).* Employ interactive, participatory teaching methods and varied instructional techniques.* Monitor and support learner progress towards stated goals.* Collect and submit accurate data, including daily attendance records.* Report and consult with the Transitions Coordinator regarding student progress.* Utilizes the Illinois WorkNet Employment 101 course, covering career choices, resumes, and interview skills to earn a certificate.* Encourage learners' participation in Bridge program transition opportunities.* Facilitate student meetings with local school district representatives in collaboration with the Transitions Coordinator.* Prepare an end-of-session report detailing outcomes achieved, customized curriculum materials, and student evaluations.* Complete and submit documentation for a minimum of 12 hours of professional development per year, including two local staff development meetings.* Annually submit an updated resume and complete District 214's GCN training modules.Minimum Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.* Completion of the Orientation for New Adult Education Teachers (ABE/GED focus) workshop within three months of hiring.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google Suite.* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage workload efficiently to meet deadlines.Preferred Qualifications:* Teaching or staff experience in K-12 education.* Experience teaching adults and knowledge of a second language.* Training or coursework in Education, ESL, or a related field.If you are passionate about adult education and eager to make a difference in the community, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity!APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Complete an online application and provide the following information:Cover letter expressing interest in position.Resume listing experience, training and education.Three current letters of recommendation.Application Deadline: March 10, 2025 preferred.
