Systems Integration Engineer

Position SummaryGeoSurfaces, a TenCate company, is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to support the development, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting of integrated control and automation systems. This role combines software configuration, controls engineering, networking, and hands-on systems integration with a strong focus on ensuring complex systems function reliably in real-world environments.The ideal candidate is highly technical, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable solving complex integration challenges across hardware, software, networking, and control systems. This is a hands-on role supporting both office and field operations, including active project deployments and commissioning efforts.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain custom splash pages, web interfaces, and access portals for system monitoring and controlConfigure, program, troubleshoot, and support PLC-based control systemsAssist with integration across multiple platforms including lighting controls, networking infrastructure, automation systems, and related technologiesSupport end-to-end commissioning activities including setup, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and deployment of integrated systemsPerform software integrations, protocol alignment, device addressing, and cross-system communication configurationSupport integrations utilizing TouchOSC, UDP, TCP/IP, and related communication protocolsCollaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless interaction between hardware, software, networking, and control layersIdentify, troubleshoot, and resolve integration bottlenecks, inconsistencies, and system performance issuesMaintain clear and accurate documentation related to system architecture, configurations, deployments, and revisionsSupport both on-site and remote troubleshooting efforts for live systems and active projectsAssist with ongoing system improvements, optimization efforts, and technical support initiativesPerform other duties and responsibilities as assignedQualifications & SkillsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent work experience may be consideredExperience with systems integration, controls engineering, automation systems, or related technical environmentsWorking knowledge of PLC systems and control logicFamiliarity with networking fundamentals including IP-based systems, routing, and device communicationAbility to troubleshoot complex multi-system technical issues in real-world environmentsStrong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with lighting control systems including DMX, RDM, Art-Net, sACN, and MADRIXExperience with web development including HTML, embedded web interfaces, or front-end UI developmentExperience integrating hardware, software, and network systemsField commissioning, deployment, or live systems support experienceFull-stack development experience is a plusWork Environment & TravelCombination of office, remote, and on-site project workHands-on involvement with live systems and active deploymentsFast-paced, collaborative environment requiring adaptability and problem-solvingOccasional travel may be required to support active job sites, deployments, and company locations as business needs dictateGrowth OpportunityThis is a mid-level engineering role with strong growth potential into senior systems integration, controls architecture, or lead engineering positions.
