Facilities Engineers at DartPoints operate, monitor, and support physical facilities conditions. Some of these duties will include climate control, power supply, generators, UPS and flywheel systems, electrical distribution and control, physical security, and monitoring systems. Engineers regularly help inspect, maintain, and repair various data center electrical or mechanical systems, both critical and non-critical. Engineers aid Operations team members, as needed, to provision and de-provision services for internal and external clients.Engineers ensure that environmental and safety standards are consistently met, identifying problems and making repairs quickly. Engineers manage data center performance issues and outages during emergencies or abnormal conditions to minimize failure recovery time.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nAreas include: Electrical, Mechanical, General Facilities, Building Monitoring and Control\nOperate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in DartPoints’ 7 x 24 x 365 data center facilities\nMaintain, repair, and replace as-needed building systems (HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and lighting)\nMaintain, repair, and upkeep building interior and exterior based on location needs (oﬃce space, common space, lighting, landscape, parking lot, etc.)\nDocumenting, tracking, and trending operational characteristics\nCoordinate, communicate, and schedule general trades and specialty contractors to perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities\nInstallation of electrical branch feeders and branch circuits per NEC standards\nInstallation of network infrastructure cabling, fiber optics, and Category 6\nTravel – Occasional Day Travel; Infrequent Overnight Travel\nQualifications\nAssociate's degree, trade school certification, or other verifiable training in a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience 5 years in mechanical/HVAC, electrical at journeyman or technician level (minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical environment/5 years in a critical environment is preferred)\nProfessional Licensing in Mechanical or Electrical\nMechanical aptitude to perform equipment troubleshooting and repair/ rebuild\nRespond in a timely manner to requests for services and changes per company policy and procedure\nAbility to lift and move 50+ lbs. of equipment, work on platforms, ladders, and under raised floors\nPreferred Qualifications\nExcellent understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including: Branch Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, PDU units, HVAC AHU, CRAC and CRAH units, Fire Alarm systems, Clean-agent fire suppression systems, Pre-Action fire suppression systems\nAbility to communicate intelligently and eﬀectively with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on these systems\nAbility to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or when on-call\nProficient in Microsoft Oﬃce Suite\nThis position may require shift work that includes weekends and holidays\nThe following criteria apply to all positions:\nEmployees must complete individual quarterly objectives as assigned\nEmployees must demonstrate commitment to all corporate core values:\nCustomers First, Integrity, Initiative, Problem-Solving\nDisclaimer: This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and\nlevel of work performed by employees within this position and may change at any time,\nwith or without notice.
