Communications Specialist Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)ContractRate Range: $20-$25/hrKey ResponsibilitiesCommunications & Content DevelopmentDraft, edit, and refine internal communications for leadership and employee audiencesEnsure messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with organizational prioritiesSupport development of materials for leadership meetings, forums, and enterprise communicationsEvent Communications & CoordinationSupport execution of large internal events, including:Leadership meetingsOpen forumsAll-employee eventsAssist with:Agenda developmentCommunication materialsCoordination with Event Services and AV teamsServe as a communications partner within event execution rather than a logistics-only leadProject & Stakeholder ManagementManage multiple priorities and deadlines across communications and event initiativesCollaborate closely with leadership, communications teams, and cross-functional partnersDemonstrate strong organizational and prioritization skills in a dynamic environmentDepartmental Tools & Process SupportSupport maintenance and enhancement of a centralized communications tool that includes:Shared calendarsKey messaging repositoriesMedia tracking resourcesContribute to process improvements and ongoing tool adoptionRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field3–5 years of relevant experience in communications, corporate communications, or program supportDemonstrated strong writing and editing skills (required)Experience supporting large programs, initiatives, or eventsPreferred QualificationsExperience working with internal communications in a corporate environmentFamiliarity with tools such as Airtable or similar platforms (can be trained)Technical SkillsMicrosoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Microsoft TeamsExperience with collaboration and content management toolsKey CompetenciesStrong written and verbal communication skillsOrganizational and project management expertiseAbility to prioritize and multitask effectivelyExecutive presence and professionalismAdaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environmentProblem-solving mindset and attention to detail
