(base pay) + $1.00/hr. (shift premium)\nSchedule: 3rd Shift (10:45PM-6:15AM)\n\nAltium Packaging is one of the largest plastic container companies and suppliers of rigid plastic packaging. We specialize in customized mid- and short-run packaging solutions and serve a diverse customer base in the pharmaceutical, dairy, household chemicals, food/nutraceuticals, industrial/specialty chemicals, water, and beverage/juice segments.\n\nWe are currently seeking an experienced Machine Operator in Thomasville, NC. As a Machine Operator, you will operate blow mold, grinder and trimmer machines, as well as the conveyor system. You will also troubleshoot process problems and perform minor maintenance to ensure continued operation of the production line. Being a team player will be essential since all tasks require close collaboration with co-workers. Your goal is to ensure that procedures are carried out smoothly to maximize both efficiency and profits.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nEnsure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards and with applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies\n\nSet up machines (calibration, cleaning, etc.) to start a production cycle\n\nControl and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed)\n\nOperate blow-mold machines (including wheels, reciprocator or shuttle machines)\n\nPerform audits, weights and quality checks\n\nCheck output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws\n\nKeep records of approved and defective units or final products\n\nEnter data into SPC database for quality control measures\n\nTroubleshoot, preventative maintenance, minor repair on blow mold & support equipment\n\nRepair or replace pneumatic and hydraulic lines\n\nMaintain activity logs\n\nREQUIREMENTS:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\n\n2+ years’ experience as a machine operator\n\nWorking knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)\n\nStrong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills are required\n\nMachine maintenance experience\n\nAbility to read blueprints, schematics and manuals\n\nAbility to work overtime\n\nPhysical stamina and strength/able to stand for long periods of time\n\nTRAINING:\n\nCompletion of Altium Machine Operator 1 training within 90-days of hire date\n\nMust be able to train on 1st shift, if needed\n\nBENEFITS:\n\nCompetitive Hourly Rate\n\nMedical, Dental & Vision\n\nHoliday/Vacation Pay\n\n401K with Company Contribution\n\nTuition Reimbursement\n\nLearning & Training Opportunities\n\nReasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\n\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
