Micro Trench Laborer
Job Summary
The Micro Trench Laborer supports micro-trenching operations for the installation of underground utilities, primarily fiber optic conduit. This role involves hands-on labor, working closely with equipment operators and crew members to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project completion.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Micro Trench Operator during trenching operations
Install conduit, duct, and related materials in micro trenches
Perform site preparation and cleanup, including surface restoration
Hand dig, shovel, and compact material as needed
Load, unload, and organize tools, materials, and equipment
Assist with traffic control, barricades, and workzone safety
Identify and protect existing underground utilities
Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site
Required Qualifications
Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Basic understanding of construction safety practices
Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
Reliable transportation and strong attendance
Preferred Qualifications
Construction, utility, or fiber optic experience
Experience working around underground utilities
OSHA 10 certification
Traffic control or flagging certification
Physical Demands
Ability to lift 50+ lbs
Frequent bending, kneeling, standing, and walking
Use of hand tools and power tools
Work Environment
Outdoor construction sites in residential and commercial areas
Exposure to noise, dust, and heavy equipment
May require travel between job sites
