Apply today!\nAbout the role\nThe title Utility Operator designates employees who, under general supervision, perform various hands-on tasks required for the up-keep, maintenance, and operation of the plant and its component equipment.\nPosition Responsibilities:\nManning picking platform while shredding\nShredder Maintenance (change or rotate hammers)\nGeneral housekeeping of the facility both internal and exterior\nConveyor cleaning and minor conveyor maintenance; (rollers, seals, scrapers)\nBoiler outage support which may include:\no Mobile equipment operation\no Shift coverage while others support outage\no Basic rigging/tugging\no Annual equipment cleaning or overhaul\no Boiler grate repair\nOperate surge bins when needed\nPerform maintenance on equipment\nAssist other departments in their various tasks\nPainting\nSnow removal\nWarehouse support (inventory)\nUnloading Special Waste\nConfine space attendant\nAssist in fire prevention (fire watch) and extinguishment of incipient fires\nScheduled and unscheduled Overtime to support the needs of the facility.\nWear full or half face respirator, don tyvek suit\nAdditional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations\nPosition Requirements & Qualifications:\nHS diploma or equivalent.\nPossess good mechanical aptitude.\nAbility to operate such equipment as front end loaders, fork trucks, and sweepers.\nMust have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule and on call shift coverage responsibilities\nValid State Drivers License.\nPhysical Demands of the Role:\nAbility to walk, stand, sit, and climb\nAbility to lift/carry 50lbs\nAbility to work from heights and in confined spaces\nQualify to wear a full-face respirator\nConsistently work in various weather conditions\nIn addition to salary, this role is eligible for benefits.
