As practices, equipment, and technology continue to advance and shift, we can guarantee our tradition of serving for success remains the same; just as it has since 1934.About the JobThe Fleet Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily movement of Stutsman Transportation Inc.'s asset-based fleet while providing exceptional service to key customer accounts. This role supports drivers throughout their routes, manages transportation systems and electronic logs, resolves operational issues timely and efficiently, and ensures all activities comply with federal and state laws including but not limited to FMCSA's hours of service regulations.ResponsibilitiesProvide daily operational support for fleet drivers and assigned key accountsUse transportation management software (TMS) to schedule, dispatch, track and update load informationCoordinate pickup and delivery times and assist drivers with load details, planning and routing questionsPerform data entry including entering load information, preparing bills of lading and producing delivery receiptsEnsure compliance with FMCSA regulations including but not limited to hours-of-service using TMS and electronic logging systemsAssist drivers with electronic logging device (ELD) questions and troubleshootingDeliver exceptional customer service via phone, email and/or other direct communication with key accountsVerify that driver certifications and trainings meet company and FMCSA requirementsEnsure all FMCSA/DOT requirements are enforced and followed for load assignmentsCoordinate routing trucks with the shop for preventative maintenance, unscheduled repairs and/or road breakdownsWork with the safety, shop and other applicable company personnel to legally and judiciously handle accidents, accident claims, cargo claims events or securements – advise driver to take appropriate steps after an accident until safety, shop, and/or others can get involvedMonitor upcoming DOT physical expirations and notify the safety team for scheduling of renewalsUpdate DOT physical, license and endorsement expiration dates in electronic system ongoingServe as a backup for transportation payroll as neededMaintain a clean and safe work environmentOther duties as assignedRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalentA minimum of 3 years of transportation and/or logistics experience is preferredStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsUnderstand and follow freight values and insurance limits set forth by the companyKnowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations is preferredFamiliarity with Samsara or similar ELD system is preferredExperience with TruckMate (TMW) or similar TMS platform is preferredAbility to participate in an on-call rotation as neededMust possess a valid drivers licenseAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background investigationBenefitsWe offer a wide range of employee benefits along with competitive compensation, opportunities for career development, and a dynamic work environment.Affordable healthcare coverage for you and your family, including health, dental, and vision insuranceFlexible Spending Account and Health Savings AccountEmployee Assistance ProgramLong-Term Disability, Short-Term Disability, Basic Life Insurance & Voluntary Life InsuranceGroup Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Cancer and Critical Illness coverageCasual dress, with company provided stipend for logo wearTuition Reimbursement Program, including training and seminars for professional developmentBereavement PolicyEmployee Recognition Program, including peer nominated awards and company provided lunchesPaid Time Off, including vacation & sick time, paid holidays, jury duty PTO, and paid time to volunteer in your communityInterested in joining the Stutsman team?
