Job Description Job Title: Social Services AssistantLocation: 117 Meeker St, Delta CO 81416FLSA Status : Full Time - non-exemptReports to: Director/ Corp OfficerSchedule: Mon- Fri 40 hoursSupervises: N/ARate of Pay : $16.50 hourlyClosing Date:5/29/2026Benefits : Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for but not limited to the following:Health, vision, dental, life as well as voluntary life and disability insuranceSick leave benefit – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire)Vacation benefit – 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment)One floating day off for use (accrued immediately, and again annually, but may not be used until the completion of the initial three-month introductory period of employment)Pension Plan (after one year of continuous service)Voluntary Tax-Deferred Annuity Plan (403(b)plan)FunctionThe Social Services assistant will assist on a daily basis to help clients to meet their needs within our ability.This position will be responsible for all aspects of food donations, working with volunteers, and keep records for community service workers.Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo make sure food pantry and storage units are kept clean and organizedTo make food boxes and bags for the clients needsHelping with the unloading of trucks when food is deliveredTo Assist the Director in helping with commodities and TEFAPTo record freezer and refrigeration temperaturesWill assist with the seasonal activities during Thanksgiving and ChristmasTo help with food donations and food bank pick-ups from local storesTo assist in doing food drives in the communityTo Assist in helping with Vouchers for various Army programs· Education/ExperienceMust have a High School Diploma or equivalent· Skillso Posses good customer Serviceo Able to follow verbal and written directionso Able to work with excel and wordo To make suggestions to Social Services Director and Corps Officer about what is needed in the food bank· Qualificationso Must be 21 years of ageo Must be able to stand on your feet for a long period of time.· Drivingo If the position requires driving:A minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in-state driver’s license is required.An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.· Background Checko Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.Physical Requirements· Ability to maneuver.· Ability to remain in a stationary position.· Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead.· Ability to operate telephone.· Ability to lift 50 pounds.· Ability to access and produce information from the computer.· Ability to understand written information.· Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
