The role spans backend services, databases, frontend applications, and supporting infrastructure, making it a strong fit for an engineer who enjoys solving challenging technical problems and seeing research become operational capability.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\nDevelop and maintain production software in a large Rust codebase\nDesign and optimize performance-sensitive algorithms and computational workloads\nBuild backend services using technologies such as Axum and Tokio\nIntegrate software with databases, frontend applications, APIs, and infrastructure\nCollaborate with researchers, engineers, and end users to translate complex technical concepts into practical software\nHelp evolve research-driven capabilities into scalable, maintainable production systems\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a related technical field\n3+ years of professional software engineering experience\nStrong experience developing production-grade, performance-sensitive software in Rust\nExperience developing backend services with Axum or similar frameworks\nExperience with asynchronous programming, preferably using Tokio\nStrong software engineering fundamentals and problem-solving skills\nExperience working across the software stack, including familiarity with web application development\nAbility to collaborate effectively with researchers, engineers, and end users\nU.S. citizenship required\nACTIVE SECRET Security Clearance\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nACTIVE TS/SCI CLEARANCE\nExperience with Java, Python, TypeScript, and/or React\nExperience developing highly optimized parallel or concurrent software\nExperience with GPU programming or acceleration\nBackground working on simulation, optimization, scientific computing, or other computationally intensive applications\nWhy This Role\n\nThis is an opportunity to work on technically challenging, mission-critical software where performance matters and your work directly contributes to real-world capabilities.
