This position is responsible for accurately coding medical claims and sending electronically to insurance payers each day. Handles in-bound and out-bound calls, insurance verification, assisting patients with insurance questions, and working both patient and insurance aged receivables.\n\nRole and Responsibilities\nCollects, posts, and manages patient account payments.\nPrepares and reviews patient statements.\nImports and balances EFT’s.\nIdentifies and corrects rejected claims.\nReviews delinquent accounts and contacts for collection purposes.\nVerifies patients’ insurance coverage.\nAnswer questions regarding billing and insurance policies.\nProcess payments from insurance companies.\nFollows up to see if a claim is accepted or denied.\nReviews and appeals unpaid and denied claims accordingly.\nEvaluates medical record documentation to ensure proper CPT and ICD-10 codes are billed appropriately.\nObtains precertification, if required, for specific procedures.\nInvestigates insurance fraud and reports if found.\nQualifications and Education Requirements\nOfficial High School Transcripts, Diploma or Equivalency Certificate\nAbility to navigate between different tabs and systems on the computer while attending phone calls.\nCPB or other Medical Billing Certification desired, but not required.\nCPC or Medical Coding Certification desired, but not required.\n\nPreferred Skills\n\nStrong Attention to Detail\nAbility to Multitask\nGeneral Understanding of Insurance Terminology\nAbility to Communicate Clearly with Patients and Staff\n\nAdditional Notes\n\n- This position is remote, and the candidate must live in Florida.\n\n- Derick Dermatology will provide you with appropriate equipment for your work from home environment, such as: Secure laptop, monitor, headset, and webcam.
