JOB SUMMARYPerforms the primary functions of a professional nurse leader in assessing, planning, directing and evaluating patient care on the unit and promotes team efforts with physicians and personnel of other departments. JOB QUALIFICATIONS A. EducationGraduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing, Bachelors or Master's degree preferred. B. Personal job-related skillsDemonstrated ability in nursing practice. Leadership and management abilities and effective oral and written communication skills. C. Licensure, registry or certificationRegistered Nurse currently licensed by the State of Texas. BCLS certification and ACLS preferred. D. ExperiencePrior work experience: Five years hospital experience as a Registered Nurse, that includes supervisory experience, preferably at a director level. Technical training: Current CPR training and ACLS. E. Physical and mental requirementsDuties of position require moderate physical activity. Extended periods of standing and walking.
