This position oversees crew safety and compliance while performing and directing landscape and irrigation tasks such as planting, sod installation, and sprinkler setup.\r\nDuties and Responsibilities:\r\nOperate hand tools, power tools, and equipment to perform landscaping and irrigation tasks such as laying sod, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, and installing sprinklers\r\nEnsure that all employees attend the weekly tailgate meetings\r\nFollow and enforce safety standards by:\r\nIdentify and review potential traffic hazards\r\nPerform hard hats and safety gear checks\r\nConduct underground utility and trade hazard reviews\r\nEnsure general public safety around the job site\r\nMaintain a hazardous communication folder, including all relevant forms for chemicals used on the job site\r\nReport reckless or dangerous activities to the job Superintendent; notify the Safety Officer of any accidents and submit accident reports according to company policy requirements\r\nSupport the team in completing projects on time while maintaining quality and safety standards\r\nEducation and Experience:\r\nMinimum of 5 years' experience\r\nKnowledge of OSHA Standards\r\n6 months commercial landscape experience preferred\r\nAble to lead and direct a crew of 2 to 4 people\r\nPractice workplace safety\r\nBilingual (Spanish) a plus\r\nPhysical Demands/Requirements:\r\nUse hand equipment with mechanized moving blades, such as gas-powered shears\r\nUse manual hand tools such as shovels\r\nWork at elevated heights, including on an 8-foot A-frame ladder\r\nUse a hand shovel for an extended period\r\nMoves soil, equipment, and materials, digs holes, and plants trees, shrubs, and flowers\r\nAbility to lift and carry 40 lbs. (mulch, fertilizer, etc.)\r\nAbility to load/unload burlaps with plant cuttings onto trailer (up to 50 lbs.)\r\nAbility to bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the day\r\nWork Environment:\r\nWork in/or about situations near direct automotive traffic\r\nWork near or about natural bodies of water\r\nWork 8+ hours per day with applicable breaks x 5 days/week (some overtime/weekend work required)\r\nAbility to work in extreme conditions temperatures may exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit\r\nAbility to work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time\r\nBrightView Landscapes, LLC is an Equal Opportunity and E-Verify Employer.
