In collaboration with lead engineers and project managers, the engineer works with engineering teams to evaluate or design various project aspects.\n\nLocations\nOpening is for one engineer at one of the following offices: Anchorage, AK; Falmouth, ME; Sioux Falls, SD; San Diego, CA.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nProduces engineering plans, written technical specifications, engineering calculations, and cost estimates under the general supervision of a lead engineer. Checks and reviews individual assignments to maintain technical quality and accuracy of work.\n\nPerforms project site inspections and data collection with minimal oversight, including periodic travel to project locations domestically and internationally.\n\nCommunicates and coordinates directly with client, subcontractor, and vendor personnel.\n\nProduces computer-aided design (CAD) drawings while developing plan documents using standard techniques and procedures, applies company CAD standards, or collaborates with CAD drafters to provide direction.\n\nDevelops and maintains technical capabilities under general supervision, learning and staying current with industry codes and standards.\n\nPursues obtaining technical certifications related to company and department business lines, as discussed with supervisor.\n\nAssists and mentors level one engineers in developing technical capabilities.\n\nAssists in developing cost proposals for engineering designs and assessments.\n\nRequirements\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
