Senior Mechanic

Senior Vehicle Mechanic Work Hours: Mon - Fri 0700-1530, with some on call time for emergent workorders. Oversee the maintenance performed by team of 4 mechanics to service and repair Armored Fighting Vehicles for the Marines at NSB Kings Bay. Operations are on site at Kings Bay Sub Base. Vehicles supported will be: - BearCat: F-550 Super Duty Chassis with Triton V-10 Gas Engine, 4WD, armored body construction, and emergency strobe lighting - BEAR: Freightliner FL70 & M2 Commercial Truck Chassis with Caterpillar Diesel Engine, 4WD, armored body construction and emergency strobe lighting - HUMMWV: M1116, M1141 and M1151 variants with V-8 turbo-charged, water cooled diesel engines, 2WD and 4WD Qualifications: - 5 years experience leading vehicle maintenance team of 3 or more mechanics and performing fleet management for preventative maintenance scheduling - Certified on Diesel engine repairs for Ford F-6.0L, 6.4L, 6.7L diesel cooled engines, M1151/1141.1116 HMMWV C-8 turbo-charged diesek engines. - ASE Master Technician Cert - Welding experience on vehicle maintenance - Troubleshooting with Ford Diagnostics, wiring, electronics, a - Experience with glass and door repair/install, run flat tires, HVAC system repair, wiring troubleshooting and repair, and some familiarity for turret repairs for gun mounting system. - Armored vehicle body repair - US Citizen able to obtain a Confidential Clearance and work on a military installation Related keywords: mechanic, maintenance, diesel mechanic, maintenance technician Job Type: Full-time Pay: $29.00 - $31.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Application Question(s): List 2-3 reasons why you would be a great fit for this position Experience: Diesel engine repair: 5 years (Preferred) Vehicle Maintenance: 5 years (Preferred) Security clearance: Confidential (Preferred) Work Location: In person
