{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"ddcd3b53bd33bd3d5fab97c0","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ddcd3b53bd33bd3d5fab97c0","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/ddcd3b53bd33bd3d5fab97c0","title":"Program Specialist","description":"Job description\nCares of Western PA is looking for a dedicated and motivated Program Specialist to join our team at our Cheswick location.\nPosition Summary:\nThe Program Specialist develops, executes, and manages all day-to-day aspects of the Day Program.\nThey are an integral part of the team and will be looked to, by Direct Support Staff, as a leader and supervisor.\nThe Program Specialist will work closely with the Direct Support Staff Team Lead to ensure quality programming is being offered.\nThe Program Specialist will be a key player in decisions made by the Leadership Team.\nThe Leadership Team will look to the Program Specialist to offer insight to how decisions could impact the Day Program, the Participants and the Staff as well as all other relevant parties.\nThe position is full time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm.\nResponsibilities:\nWork with the Leadership Team to determine the appropriateness of potential participants for the CARES of Western PA Day Program\nComplete assessment of new individual to determine their abilities and then complete assessments prior to initial and annual meeting.\nDevelop individual’s profile detailing skills, strengths, and interests.\nIdentify, establish and cultivate working relationships in the community to establish fulfilling volunteer, recreational, and educational activities.\nWork with the Leadership Team to develop and carry out marketing strategies.\nConduct first interviews and recommend potential staff.\nContribute to the hiring process of new staff team members.\nTrain staff and monitor performance.\nEnsure all staff maintain 24 hours of relevant training annually.\nFunction as the supervisor of your Direct Support Staff.\nWork in ratio, as needed, for breaks or call-offs.\nSupport transportation needs as needed.\nProvide training on a healthy lifestyle and appropriate social behavior in the community.\nSchedule and attend necessary meetings for individuals.\nWork with individuals’ teams to develop outcomes.\nGive input regarding individual’s progress and outcomes at meetings.\nWork with team to develop Individual Support Plan (ISP) and send copies to funding agency, family, and other team members.\nEnsure that all documentation is up to date in individual’s files for licensing\nPerform other related duties as assigned or requested.\nRequirements:\nA master’s degree or above from an accredited college or university and 1 year work experience working directly with persons with disabilities OR\nA bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years work experience working directly with persons with disabilities OR\nAn associate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 4 years work experience working directly with persons with disabilities.\nBecome, or currently be ACRE Certified\nAbility to use computer effectively and proficiently\nBecome, or currently be, certified to pass medication administration\nBecome or currently be CPR/FA/AED certified\nMaintain at least 24 hours of relevant training annually\nDocument clearly and completely\nSelf-motivated\nAbility and desire to teach\nCares of Western PA offers a full benefit package that includes paid time off, paid holidays, medical insurance, vision insurance, dental coverage, short term and long term disability coverage, life insurance, and a 401k with match!\nEqual Employment Opportunity Policy Statement:\nCares of Western PA is an equal opportunity employer.
