This role supports warehouse shipping operations and is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment.The Warehouse Associate is knowledgeable in receiving procedures and serves as a backup to the Warehouse Coordinator – Receiver/Reclamation.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponds to agency inquiries in a timely and professional manner, schedules agency appointments and deliveries, and provides excellent customer serviceSupports daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient workflowEnters agency orders into Ceres, prints pick tickets, makes necessary adjustments, and prints final invoicesEnsures agency invoices are signed and dated at the time of pickup or deliveryMaintains and updates the online shopping listUnderstands and complies with all USDA product distribution requirementsAssists the RFC Manager with monthly cycle countsPrepares USDA non-perishable items for allocation by staging pallets, verifying inventory accuracy, staging empty pallets, and ensuring pallet tags are availableAssists member agencies, as needed, with submitting agency ordersDelivers completed agency orders to vehicles and operates forklifts when possible to load ordersWeighs product as needed for invoicing and ensures accurate entry of all required informationVerifies accuracy of assembled agency orders prior to scheduled appointmentsMaintains cleanliness of the agency side of the warehouse according to the established cleaning scheduleEnsures the warehouse, cooler, and freezer are organized, properly stocked, and inventory is rotated correctlyMaintains building grounds and loading docks to ensure they are clean and free of debrisOversees and verifies volunteer order picking accuracyMaintains warehouse temperature logs as scheduledOpens and/or closes the facility as directed by the RFC ManagerActs as backup to the Warehouse Coordinator – Receiver/ReclamationPerforms other duties as assignedSafety ResponsibilitiesFollows all food safety standards established by LCFBAdheres to all safety protocols related to warehouse operations and use of LCFB equipmentJob RequirementsRequired Education, Skills, Knowledge, and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED requiredReliable transportation requiredMinimum of four years of experience in warehouse operations and customer serviceResourceful problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environmentStrong customer service orientationAbility to apply basic math conceptsProficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelAbility to learn and adapt to new software systemsAbility to obtain pallet jack and forklift certificationStrong verbal and written communication skills with diverse groupsUnderstanding of the non-profit and social service environmentStrong organizational and time-management skillsWillingness to undergo random drug screeningPreferred Education and ExperienceAssociate's DegreeSchedule and Physical DemandsFlexible schedule Monday through Saturday, including occasional evenings and weekends for special eventsAbility to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds and move heavy objects (up to 3,000 pounds) using appropriate equipment
