The firm is focused on delivering efficient and high-quality legal services while maintaining strong communication with clients throughout each case. Due to continued growth and case volume, the client is looking to strengthen their team with a highly experienced paralegal who can operate independently and contribute immediately.About the Role:The client is seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal who can take ownership of cases from intake through filing under attorney supervision. This role requires someone who can gather client information, manage documentation, and draft legal filings with minimal guidance. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to move quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism in all aspects of their work.Key ResponsibilitiesCase ManagementHandle family law cases including divorce, custody, and domestic violence matters from intake to filingGather and organize client information and supporting documentationMaintain accurate and up-to-date case files within internal systemsLegal Drafting & DocumentationPrepare and draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests and responsesReview and proofread documents to ensure accuracy and complianceFormat and manage documents in PDF for court submissionClient CommunicationCommunicate with clients to request information and provide updatesConduct phone calls when necessary to resolve issues or gather missing detailsEnsure a professional and empathetic approach in all client interactionsTrial & Litigation SupportAssist with trial preparation including organizing exhibits and case materialsSupport attorneys with ongoing litigation processesEnsure all deadlines and procedural requirements are metQualifications & SkillsMustMinimum of 4 years of experience as a paralegal in California family lawStrong experience handling discovery requests and responsesExcellent legal writing and proofreading skillsStrong understanding of court procedures and litigation processesBilingual in English and SpanishExperience working with Microsoft Office and PDF document managementAbility to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficientlyPreferredExperience with MyCase or ClioExperience with Clio Draft or similar legal drafting toolsPortuguese language skillsPersonality TraitsStrong sense of urgency and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentHighly organized and detail-orientedProactive and able to take initiative without constant supervisionStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skillsComfortable communicating directly with clients via phone and emailReliable, productive, and results-driven
