We emphasize continuous learning and growth, fostering cross-functional collaboration where your contributions are vital to our success.Role OverviewWe are seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to drive product development of the Echo wearable hardware device. The candidate will be responsible for designing, prototyping, and evaluating custom Echo hardware devices. The candidate will drive manufacturing vendors, and own design verification activities for medical device product development.Primary Role and ResponsibilitiesDesign and prototype mechanical components and assemblies including rapid prototyping, machining, injection moldingDevelop component and assembly drawings including tolerance stack-ups and analysesIdentify and manage manufacturing vendors of components and assembliesPerform simulations and analysis (FEA, thermal, etc) with vendors to drive design decisionsDevelop custom electromechanical systems for characterization and testing of assemblies and componentsDevelop and execute design verification activitiesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or related fieldMinimum 7 years of post-academic, industry experience in product development of electro-mechanical hardware devicesExperience with, and inclination toward hands-on rapid prototypingExperience designing mechanical components for manufacturing such as plastic or metal parts, mechanical assemblies, printed circuit boards, cablesExperience selecting and working with component and contract manufacturersExperience with dimensioning and tolerance analysesMinimum 7 years of experience using computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as Solidworks including concept development, detailed design, and corresponding assembly drawingsExperience with analysis tools for thermal, and structure analyses (eg: FEA, ANSYS, etc)Experience developing and implementing custom electro-mechanical test systems (eg: mechanical fatigue testing, reliability testing, tensile testing, etc)Experience working within a quality systemOther QualificationsMaster's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related fieldKnowledge of medical device development processes, including design controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance for medical devicesStrong collaboration mindsetSuperior written and verbal communication skillsOccasional travel to vendors (An opportunity to work on exciting, cutting-edge projects to transform patients' lives in a highly collaborative work environment.Competitive compensation, including stock options.Comprehensive benefits package.401(k) program with matching contributions.Equal Opportunity EmployerEcho Neurotechnologies is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
