We are seeking an experienced Ab Initio Developer to support a modernization initiative involving the analysis, decomposition, and migration of existing Ab Initio codebases to a modern technology stack.The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Ab Initio ETL development and be comfortable working with legacy code. Candidates with recent Ab Initio experience are preferred; however, candidates with older Ab Initio experience will also be considered if they have strong hands-on expertise.Role : Ab Initio DeveloperLocation : Wilmington, DEMode : OnsiteKey ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and decompose existing Ab Initio codebases to understand business logic, data flows, and processing requirements.Support the modernization and migration of legacy Ab Initio applications to a newer technology stack.Collaborate with engineering and development teams to design scalable, efficient, and maintainable solutions.Contribute to data pipeline development, enhancement, and optimization.Translate existing ETL logic and requirements into modern application and data-processing solutions.Develop clean, maintainable, and high-quality code throughout the modernization process.Learn and apply Java as part of the migration and modernization initiative.Participate in code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong hands-on experience with Ab Initio / Ab Initio ETL Development.Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and working with legacy Ab Initio codebases.Experience supporting code decomposition, migration, or modernization projects.Strong understanding of ETL processes, data processing, and data pipelines.Ability and willingness to learn Java and apply it as part of the modernization effort.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and development teams.Strong understanding of software development and code-quality practices.Preferred QualificationsRecent hands-on Ab Initio experience.Experience with modernization or migration from legacy ETL technologies to modern technology stacks.Java development experience is a plus, but candidates with strong Ab Initio expertise who are willing to learn Java will be considered.Experience working in large-scale enterprise data environments.Why join BCforward At BCforward, we believe in advancing lives and careers.
