When you join us you'll have the opportunity to work on transportation projects that focus on bridges and other transportation structure designs. You will serve in a technical role and/or task lead on bridge design projects and perform complex structural analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects on local and national projects. We'll look for your knowledge and experience in analysis as well as the development of design, plan preparation, specifications, and reports. Inspection may be required on occasion.\nHere's what you'll need:\nBachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering\nRelevant previous professional experience in bridge design and inspection, preferably 6-10 years\nRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) in IA or ability to obtain within 6 months\nSolid understanding of standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable Codes.\nAbility to produce design documentation/calculations\nProficiency in bridge design software, such as LEAP Concrete/Bridge, AASHTOWare BrR, Larsa 4D, MIDAS Civil, and/or MDX\nWorking knowledge of CAD systems, specifically Bentley MicroStation, Bentley OpenRoads Designer or Bentley OpenBridge Modeler.\nA thorough understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications to transportation structures.\nIdeally you'll also have:\nMaster of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering\nDemonstrated experience on various types of bridges, including both concrete and structural steel bridge types\nExperience in both new bridge design as well as inspection, maintenance, and repair\nExperience working on IA DOT projects\nDemonstrated work in IL, MN, MO, and WI\nActive involvement in local engineering societies.\nOur health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
