This full-time contract role requires someone who takes ownership of their work and can demonstrate a proven track record running a lab. The ideal candidate brings structure, accountability, and hands-on technical excellence — keeping the lab organized and operational while performing precision rework and standing up basic test benches to support engineering. Strong communication skills are essential, as this role coordinates daily with engineering teams.\n\nThis role centers on three pillars:\n\nLab Management — owning the organization, equipment, inventory, calibration, and safety of the lab\n\nSoldering & Rework — expert BGA rework, reballing, and fine-pitch hand soldering\n\nBasic Bench Setup & Testing — configuring test benches and running basic functional checks to support engineering\n\nSchedule: 8 hours per day, 5 days per week (40 hours/week)\n\nLab Management (primary focus)\n\nManage day-to-day lab operations, including equipment, inventory, and workspace organization\n\nEstablish and enforce lab organization standards and procedures\n\nTrack inventory of components, consumables, and equipment\n\nMaintain lab equipment, tools, and workstations in optimal condition, including calibration and routine maintenance\n\nTake ownership of lab cleanliness, safety, and efficiency\n\nCoordinate with engineering teams to prioritize lab tasks and support project timelines\n\nSoldering & Rework\n\nPerform precision soldering and rework tasks, including:\n\nBGA (Ball Grid Array) rework and replacement\n\nBGA reballing specifically:\n\nBGA rework (removal and replacement)\n\nBGA reballing techniques\n\nQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE\n\nMust be able to demonstrate skills during a practical assessment following virtual screening\n\nBasic bench setup and testing capability — comfortable configuring test equipment and performing basic functional/bring-up checks on hardware\n\nStrong communication skills — able to
