To ensure a personal learning experience, they also monitors student performance, meets regularly with families, and connects with school teachers to help ensure the application of skills learned in the classroom. They also observes and coaches the teaching staff, ensuring robust instructional experiences. The Program Manager also communicates with the Center Director regularly to ensure quality and consistency of the customer experience.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\nObserves and coaches instructional staff on a regular basis to ensure that teachers follow\nSylvan’s Instructional Management guidelines and deliver instructional sessions that are balanced and robust\nManages and delivers all conference activities such as preparing conference materials and meeting with parents to keep families enrolled in Sylvan\nSets weekly goals with Center Director to drive sales growth\nSelects and hires teachers, ensuring that all new staff meet Sylvan hiring standards\nEnsures that all teachers are trained and certified to deliver Sylvan programs\nSchedules and manages teaching staff to meet Center needs and to control labor costs\nPartners with Center Director to run day-to-day operations including customer account management\nMotivates and develops staff by providing ongoing learning opportunities\nEnsures initial and ongoing progress assessments are administered according to Sylvan standards\nEnsures that all staff who administer assessments are trained and certified\nMonitors student progress to ensure goals are achieved and ongoing family needs are met\nEstablishes and maintains ongoing communication with classroom teachers to ensure Sylvan programs meet student and family needs\nMay also be required to make school visits, establish and maintain relationships with schools for partnership and marketing purposes\nChecks students in and out of the Center with particular attention to student safety and well-being\nGreets and assists students, parents, and potential customers according to Sylvan standards\nKNOWLEDGE REQUIRED\nBachelor's Degree in Education or in Communication\nState or provincial teaching credentials (current or expired)\nMinimum of one or two years of teaching experience preferred; Experience in supervisor role preferred\nKnowledge of current educational policy\nPrevious retail and/or sales experience preferred\nFamiliarity with instructional technology and tablet computers\nExperience using Microsoft Word and other standard business applications used by the Center\nKnowledge of general office equipment such as copiers, printers, and office phones\nExperience using social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) preferred\nSKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED\nProven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn\nProven ability to supervise, coach, and develop teachers/instructional staff\nStrong customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills\nStrong analytical and problem solving skills\nProven ability to discuss and sell Sylvan products and services to new and existing customers\nStrong organizational skills; Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible\nSelf-sufficiency in ownership of work and tasks\nProven ability to communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience\nAbility to work collaboratively; Strong team player\nAbility to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends\nAbility to occasionally lift and/or move up to ten pounds\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
