The Database Administrator will collaborate with internal and external teams to optimize and update database operations and ensure continuous improvement in monitoring and performance.\r\nJob Responsibilities\r\nPerforms all work in accordance with company's quality programs, standards and procedures.\r\nProvides technical leadership to the development team in resolving development and implementation issues related to the database infrastructure.\r\nResponsible for participation in determining strategic architecture direction.\r\nReview technical documents to ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance with enterprise directions and security standards.\r\nDevise plans for patching and upgrading the database infrastructure.\r\nDevelop and maintain all standards pursuant to data structures and models, review data models and frameworks/blueprints.\r\nResponsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, such as database backups, index rebuilding, and statistics gathering.\r\nResponsible for performance tuning of data retrieval and data loading program units.\r\nResponsible for capacity planning and performing volumetric analysis.\r\nWork with clients, business analysts, technical staff, and project team members to plan, design, develop, implement, and enhance applications, scripts, procedures, and metadata for relational databases.\r\nProvides full-life cycle product roadmaps for the database infrastructure.\r\nReviews operational data structures and recommends optimizations and reconfigurations as warranted.\r\nIdentify potential strategic data-related technology partners, evaluate and/or assess potential data-related tools and technologies.\r\nWork closely with 3rd party vendors to integrate selected packages. Recommend and evaluate new tools and methodologies.\r\nConduct proof of concept and evaluate new features available for Microsoft SQL or related Database technologies and perform cost-benefit analysis as applicable.\r\nMaintain safety, security, and privacy standards throughout all areas of responsibility.\r\nDevelop and implement data security policies, procedures, and best practices to protect sensitive information.\r\nKnowledge\r\nLogical/physical database design experience.\r\nExpertise establishing system-wide standards, policies, procedures and methods.\r\nSolid, quantifiable experience in: Failover Orchestration, Query Optimization, Data Migration, Cloud Infrastructure.\r\nParticipation in large data migration projects in a MS SQL AOAG.\r\nExperience in Web based Architecture with exposure to high availability and large-scale technologies such as clustering, load balancers, etc.\r\nExperience configuring and managing MS SQL solutions using AOAGs, including cluster configuration, storage optimization, and High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.\r\nExperience working in containerized environments and with cloud-based infrastructure, middleware, and server solutions.\r\nSkills\r\nProficient in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Visio.\r\n4+ years of experience with all aspects of SQL Server and AOAG build, configuration, and deployments.\r\nExperienced in RDBMS administration and configuration for large projects.\r\nPrefer knowledge of XML standards.\r\nAbilities\r\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\r\nAbility to think critically and problem solve using industry standard methodologies.\r\nAbility to manage time and multiple priorities.\r\nAbility to document and update standard operating procedures.\r\nDisciplined, detail-oriented, and well organized with a strong background in operational methodology.\r\nAbility to interface and work with varied positions and levels of technical knowledge both within the department and with other departments in the company.\r\nSolid analytical and troubleshooting skills to quickly determine root causes of problems and drive towards solutions.\r\nMust foster a collaborative and collegial atmosphere within a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.\r\nOther Essential Requirements\r\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.\r\n5+ years of experience as an MS SQL or equivalent Database administrator in a clustered AOAG environment.\r\nWhy Join Protera?\r\nWork with global enterprise clients\r\nLearn fast with mentorship, certifications, and career growth\r\nMake a real impact in a company where ideas are welcome\r\nFlexible work setup (remote/hybrid)\r\nPeople-first culture with a global mindset\r\nReady to Make the Move?\r\nWe'd love to meet you.\r\nClick \"Apply Now\" and tell us why you're the one.\r\nNot sure yet?
