You’ll serve as a senior technical expert and/or task lead on both local and nationally‑recognized highway and rail projects, performing advanced structural analysis, guiding design development, and reviewing critical project documentation.\n\nWhen you join us, you’ll be responsible for:\n\nLeading and performing complex structural analysis and design for highway and rail bridges and related transportation structures\n\nDeveloping and reviewing design plans, technical specifications, calculations, and engineering reports\n\nProviding technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers\n\nCoordinating with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders\n\nConducting occasional structural inspections as required\n\nHere’s what you’ll need\n\nBS in civil/structural engineering (MS/MCE Preferred)\n\nMinimum of 5 years' of demonstrated experience on various types of bridges, to include design, analysis, and plan development of new and rehabilitation projects\n\nRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) in MD, or able to obtain in 3 months\n\nExperience working with MDOT SHA, MDTA, and MTA, including familiarity with SHA’s Guidelines and Procedures Memoranda, Structural Details, ProjectWise, and MDTA’s ASIR.\n\nAbility to produce design computations, plans, specifications, estimates, and reports\n\nDemonstrated experience on various bridge types, including prestressed concrete and steel superstructures, and substructure design\n\nProficiency in CAD systems, specifically MicroStation, including experience with SHA CADD Workspace and ProjectWise\n\nExperience with modeling software, including OpenBridge/OpenRoads Designer\n\nProficiency with structural design/analysis software, including CSIBridge, STAAD, LARS, or other structural design/analyses programs\n\nProficiency with structural design software, including Leap Bridge Steel and/or Concrete, or other structural design programs\n\nSolid understanding of and practical experience applying the AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and the AREMA code to transportation structures\n\nProficiency in performing QA/QC using Bluebeam, PDF-Xchange Editor, and/or Adobe Acrobat\n\nWillingness and ability to work in a collaborative group environment in person and remotely through Microsoft Teams\n\nIdeally, you’ll also have:\n\nCompletion of NHI Course No. 130056 – Safety Inspection of In‑Service Bridges\n\nActive involvement in local engineering societies.\n\nOur health and welfare benefits\nOur health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about.
