Med Aide

Job Summary The Medication Aide plays a crucial role in providing quality care to residents in assisted living or healthcare settings. This position is responsible for administering medications, monitoring patient health, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a compassionate demeanor, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Duties Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and guidelines. Monitor and document residents’ vital signs and overall health status. Maintain accurate medication records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with the development of care plans in collaboration with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals. Provide support to residents in daily living activities as needed. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members regarding medication management and health concerns. Ensure cleanliness and organization of medication storage areas. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Skills Experience in assisted living or home community care settings is preferred. Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality. Ability to take and interpret vital signs accurately. Previous experience in hospice care or hospital environments is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
