Temporary Administrative Assistant, Physician Services

Temporary Full time position, based out of Danvers, MA This temporary assignment is for the timeframe of September through December, performing a broad range of office functions to facilitate the smooth and efficient operation of Physician Services department. This position supports hospice, palliative care, and primary care providers and is an integral member of the Physician Services Team. The position provides administrative support to providers in the field, interacting with referral sources, and providing excellent customer service to our patients. How You'll Contribute: Responds to telephone inquiries regarding Physician Services. Registers patient in electronic medical record, verifying insurance and eligibility, and confirming appointments. Provides administrative support to the physicians including patient assignment, scheduling patient visits, and making follow up phone calls to patients and families. Contact team members in the field to convey messages and needed information. Obtains medical records from hospitals and physician offices as needed by physicians and advanced practice clinicians. Maintains proficiency with the Electronic Health Record. Prepares and/or edits documents such as letters, reports, forms, policies, charts, presentations, and spreadsheets using MS word, Excel, PowerPoint and other appropriate software. What You will Bring: High school diploma required, Associate's degree preferred. Minimum of one year of experience in a medical facility or medical office setting. Demonstrated skill in managing communications and coordinating activities in a multi-disciplinary setting. Excellent organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. Proficiency in MS Office/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook and agency specific systems and databases required. Proven customer service skills dealing with a health care service provider. Ability to exercise independent judgment including the handling of highly confidential medical information.
