Summary: TheCamp Cook is responsible for preparing breakfast, lunch, cleaning up and purchasing supplies as needed. 2% Site Supervisor 98% Cook/Driver Essential Functions:Prepare breakfast and lunch according to the SFSP menu. Supervise assigned kitchen staff Responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen area and proper food storage. Responsible for keeping records required by SFSP Helps to maintain standards of safety and sanitation in food preparation and storage areas Keeps inventory of supplies. Requests and purchases needed food & supplies. Report any medical problems to Camp Nurse. Report any incidents to Manager of Community Services. Be aware of any plan for campers' food restrictions, as made aware by Camp Nurse Any other duties as assigned by Manager of Community Services. Non-Essential Functions:Participate in corporate compliance and quality assurance activities as required. Reporting Responsibilities:Reports to: Community Services Manager Supervisory Responsibilities:Kitchen Staff Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Must be able to maintain composure under pressure Knowledge and experience of meal planning and preparation for large number of people. Experience with children with or without developmental disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of standards for safe food handling and storage Knowledge of and skill to properly operate standard kitchen equipment and to use cooking utensils for large scale food preparation Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to and interact appropriately with adults and children with different background and abilities Strong organizational skills; makes efficient use of time and energy Ability to comprehend and follow instructions and required procedures Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately Physical Requirements:Physical ability to lift, carry, push and pull moderate weights Physical ability to remain on feet for extended periods throughout work day Physical stamina for continuous walking, bending, reaching over head, twisting and turning Perception of speech and sounds in environment to ensure safety Ability to distinguish differences in quality of flavors and/or odors Manual dexterity to perform essential job functions efficiently and safely Ability to maneuver safely in a cramped or confined space Working Conditions:Camp environment, partially indoors/outdoors, kitchen setting Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid NYS Driver' license with acceptable driving history, per agency policy.
