Hotel Maintenance Engineer, Kenwood Inn and Spa

Description Summary of Position The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, and physical structures throughout the property. This role requires knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as the ability to complete general maintenance projects such as painting, carpentry, and equipment repair. The technician will assist managers with moving furniture, mattresses, and equipment when needed and help maintain the property's overall appearance and functionality. Shift and Schedule Monday to Friday Holidays On-call weekends and after hours as needed Kenwood Inn & Spa is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support property operations and help maintain the quality, safety, and appearance of our luxury boutique hotel. This role is responsible for routine maintenance, preventative upkeep, and daily property care to ensure a comfortable, safe, and well-maintained environment for guests and team members. The Maintenance Technician plays an important role in preserving the beauty, functionality, and safety of the property through proactive maintenance, attention to detail, and strong communication with management. This position is typically scheduled Monday-Friday, 40+ hours per week, with on-call availability for emergency situations on weekends or after hours when needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned as needed.Perform property maintenance duties, including plumbing repairs, electrical troubleshooting, painting, and general repairs.Use gasoline or electric power tools such as drills, as well as hand tools including hammers, saws, wrenches, pliers, and cutters.Inspect guest rooms and common areas regularly to identify maintenance needs and repair issues before they impact guest experience.Maintain and troubleshoot pool and spa equipment, including pumps, heaters, and filtration systems.Inspect and maintain HVAC systems, including regular filter replacement and monitoring of system performance.Monitor boilers, water heaters, pumps, and other mechanical equipment to ensure proper operation.Assist with the maintenance of gas fireplaces and related equipment.Maintain exterior property areas, including walkways, gates, patios, and outdoor lighting.Perform routine property upkeep, including power washing walkways, patios, and exterior surfaces.Conduct regular inspections of courtyards, pathways, and outdoor guest areas to ensure they remain clean, safe, and well-maintained.Assist with seasonal property maintenance, including exterior upkeep and irrigation adjustments.Maintain and repair furniture, cabinetry, fixtures, and other wooden structures.Purchase materials and supplies for repairs while keeping expenses within approved limits.Coordinate with external vendors or contractors for specialized repairs as needed and assist with on-site access.Maintain a preventative maintenance program for guest rooms, mechanical systems, and common areas.Maintain organized work and storage areas.Keep a daily log of work performed and submit it with payroll documentation.Communicate with management when repairs require specialized expertise, vendor coordination, or additional resources.Assist management with fire and life safety compliance including fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, exit signage, and related safety equipment.Support property safety policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal safety regulations, including the Injury and Illness Prevention Program.Use equipment and materials safely and follow established safety procedures at all times.Represent the property professionally and conduct work in a manner reflecting positively on Four Sisters Inns. Education And/Or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with management and other employees of Four Sisters Inns.
