The Head of Procurement leads global sourcing, supplier strategy, and procurement execution within a highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environment. This role owns sourcing strategy across direct and indirect spend, drives cost and performance improvements, and ensures supply continuity in support of production schedules, quality requirements, and ontime delivery commitments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead global sourcing initiatives supporting aerospace and defense manufacturing, including supplier identification, qualification, and onboardingOwn negotiations and administration of complex supplier agreements, longterm pricing, and capacity commitmentsDrive cost reduction initiatives focused on total cost of ownership (TCO), shouldcost modeling, and lifecycle managementDevelop and execute strategic category plans across aerospacecritical commodities and servicesIdentify and mitigate supply chain risk related to capacity constraints, long leadtime components, and geopolitical exposureEstablish and manage supplier scorecards, KPIs, and quality / delivery performance metricsServe as procurement lead for SIOP, ensuring supplier readiness aligns with aerospace production demandEnsure supplier compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and EAR requirements, including proper flowdowns and auditsLead supply base transitions and sourcing shifts with zero impact to production or qualityDrive procurement process improvement, ERP optimization, and adoption of sourcing best practicesOversee logistics, receiving, and warehouse strategy to ensure uninterrupted material flow to productionBuild, mentor, and lead a highperformance procurement organizationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field10+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain leadership experienceDirect experience supporting aerospace and/or defense manufacturing environmentsStrong working knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and exportcontrolled supply chainsProven success negotiating with Tier 1 and Tier 2 aerospace suppliersExperience managing longlead, engineered, and regulated componentsAdvanced ERP experience and strong Excel skillsCPSM, CPM, or APICS (CSCP or CPIM) certifications preferredProfileStrategic and handson procurement leader with aerospace domain expertiseComfortable influencing executive leadership and crossfunctional stakeholdersDatadriven, operationally rigorous, and complianceorientedExperienced scaling procurement organizations in complex manufacturing environmentsCompany DescriptionDSJ Global is a revolutionary search firm, specializing in the bespoke delivery of executive search solutions to clients.Working across a number of niche industries and sectors across the US, UK, and Europe.With offices in New York, Charlotte, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, London, Zurich, Berlin, Hong Kong and Singapore, DSJ Global operates on an international scale providing bespoke search packages which are unrivaled in the widespread recruitment market.
