Heavy Equipment Operator I - Public Works

** MUST APPLY ON COUNTY WEBSITE www.lex-co.com/Applications ** Job Overview: Under general supervision, performs semi-skilled work in operating and maintaining various heavy equipment in the transportation division of Public Works. May operate various heavy equipment such as grader, roller, backhoe, bush hog, and dump trucks in the fields of paving, drainage, grading, constructions, and maintenance of all county roads. Drives various trucks, hauls materials and equipment. Uses tamps, chainsaws, pole saws, concrete mixers, shovels, and additional small equipment. Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum Qualification: Must have a valid SC Drivers License. Will be provided with training to obtain a CDL-A license. Must obtain CDL permit within 6 months of hire date.
