This position requires a dynamic individual who excels in collaboration, strategic thinking, and driving for results.\n\nReporting Relationship\nThis position reports directly to the Vice President of Preconstruction in the California and Arizona regions.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nEssential Responsibilities\nStrategic Leadership & Relationship Building\nActs as ambassador of Building Great Relationships by fostering partnership on project teams including owner, architect, and other stakeholders.\nEstablishes a positive, solutions-oriented tone from Day 1\nLead internal and external coordination to ensure alignment and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.\nChampions innovative ways to address project challenges in a hopeful, optimistic, and creative way\nProject Pursuit & Proposal Strategy\nSupport efforts on critical RFPs and proposals.\nCoordinate with VP and PX to develop winning strategies including staffing plans, schedules, logistics, and presentation content.\nCoordinate with marketing, VDC, estimating, and operations to deliver compelling pursuit packages and team interviews.\nBudgeting, Estimating, and Value Engineering\nOversee bid coverage, bid inclusions/exclusions.\nSupport preconstruction and construction budget development.\nLeverage subcontractor relationships to ensure competitive pricing.\nGuide logistics planning and schedule development in coordination with estimating and scheduling teams.\nReview and tailor bid qualifications to project-specific needs.\nManage value engineering items, including input and management of VE items in JOIN.\nPresent VE strategies to project teams and ensure clarity in budget variance reporting.\nSupport bid day operations and coordinate with marketing for RFP deliverables.\nRisk Management, Procurement, and Contracting\nNegotiate and award early trade packages, consultant agreements, and temporary services.\nEvaluate subcontractor quality and advise leadership on trade risks.\nProactively manage long-lead risks including permitting, power, deferred approvals, and materials.\nCollaborate with design teams and owners to develop risk mitigation strategies.\nOperational Oversight & Preconstruction Execution\nLead preconstruction meetings, site walks, and existing conditions assessments.\nEnsure timely invoice submission and preconstruction data management.\nMonitor project financial health and support PX/PDs in maintaining preconstruction milestones.\nFacilitate preconstruction kickoff meetings and construction handoff meetings.\nAct as design manager for design-build projects, if required.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\n\nEssential Skills\n\nTechnical\nProficiency with Microsoft Office.\nAbility to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues.\nBusiness and Management\nStrong organizational and time-management abilities.\nAbility to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines.\nUnderstanding of business operations and workflows.\nAbility to maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting as required.\nInterpersonal\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders\nProfessional demeanor and customer service orientation.\nHighly collaborative and can lead cross-functional teams.\nPersonal\nStrategic thinker that leads with curiosity and creativity to problem solve.\nSelf-motivated and detail-oriented.\nWillingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.\nQualifications\n5-7 years’ experience in Construction Project Management, Estimating, PreConstruction or combination thereof.\nBachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business administration, or other related subject preferred\nProven leadership in preconstruction management across diverse project types\nStrong understanding of estimating, scheduling, logistics, and value engineering\nProven track record of negotiating contracts\nPhysical Demands\nAbility to sit or stand for extended periods.\nOccasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs.\nUse of standard office equipment (computer, phone, copier, etc.).\nWork Environment\nPrimarily an office-based role.\nMay involve occasional travel or remote work as needed.\nMay involve working at an active construction site or client office on select days\nTypical indoor working conditions with standard lighting and ventilation.\n\nAbout W.E.
