Read more about Charge at the links below:Fast Company – Solar Building Robots to Solve One of Climate's Biggest ProblemsMIT News – Making solar projects cheaper and faster with portable factoriesYouTube – full video of our Gen1 robots building a solar farmAbout this role:As a Senior Robotics Software Engineer at Charge Robotics, you'll be working full-stack and playing a direct role in deploying gigawatts of clean power generation.What you'll be working on:Architecting, building, documenting, testing, and iterating on software for our robotic factory installation systemDeveloping perception, motion planning, and controls software that lets our robots operate reliably in unstructured field conditions.Contributing to low-level software powering robotic systems in our factories and delivery vehicles, with emphasis on correctness and safetyControlling industrial automation hardware including linear actuators, motors, and hydraulic systemsYou:Are an experienced Python developer and comfortable with at least one lower-level language like C++, with experience writing real-time, embedded, or robotics softwareKnow how to instrument and develop highly performant software as a member of a team, including writing clean code, documenting it, testing it, and using version control and CIHave worked in a fast-paced startup environment before, and loved itAre excited to work with (and occasionally safely climb into) giant robotsHave excellent written and verbal communication skillsAre based in or can relocate to the SF Bay Area, and able to work 4-5 days/week from our San Leandro HQAre open to ~10% travel to field (solar construction sites) to work directly with our product in its deployment environmentAre excited to see your work deployed onto actual solar farms!It'd also be nice if you:Have experience working with industrial robot arms, motion planning, or automation systemsHave a 4-year degree in computer science, robotics, or a related fieldGain satisfaction from personally playing a part in mitigating climate changeCharge Robotics is an equal opportunity employer, and we value diversity at our company.
