Experience with wastewater treatment equipment control panels and hazardous-location panel design under UL 508A with UL 698A being highly beneficial.\nKey Responsibilities\nControl Panel Design & Engineering\nDesign industrial electrical control panels, including PLC panels, VFD panels, MCC sections, instrumentation panels, and operator interface panels.\nIndependently develop complete electrical design packages, including:\nOne-line diagrams\nSchematic and wiring diagrams\nPanel layouts and general arrangements\nBills of materials (BOMs)\nCable schedules and I/O lists\nSelect, size, and specify electrical components such as breakers, contactors, overloads, power supplies, PLC hardware, VFDs, relays, and terminal blocks.\nPerform electrical calculations including load sizing, short-circuit current, arc energy considerations, and thermal dissipation.\nCodes, Standards & Compliance\nEnsure all designs comply with applicable electrical and safety standards, including:\nNEC / NFPA 70\nUL 508A (Industrial Control Panels)\nUL 698A (Industrial Control Panels Relating to Hazardous Locations)\nIEC standards where applicable\nCustomer, municipal, and project-specific specifications\nDesign control panels for hazardous or classified locations using purged and pressurized enclosures per UL 698A requirements.\nSupport UL-listed panel shop practices, including labeling, component traceability, and documentation.\nParticipate in internal design reviews to ensure safety, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.\nWastewater & Industrial Applications (Preferred)\nDesign and support control panels for wastewater and water treatment equipment, including:\nPump stations and lift stations\nBlowers, aeration systems, and mixers\nScreening, clarification, and sludge handling systems\nChemical feed, monitoring, and dosing systems\nApply instrumentation common to wastewater systems (level, flow, pressure, pH, conductivity, turbidity, gas detection).\nInterpret and implement municipal standards and wastewater authority specifications.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with PLC programmers, mechanical engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure coordinated designs.\nProvide technical guidance to panel fabrication, wiring, and testing teams during build and FAT activities.\nSupport troubleshooting and resolution of electrical issues during manufacturing, commissioning, and startup.\nProject & Documentation Support\nMaintain accurate and well-organized engineering documentation throughout the project lifecycle.\nProvide engineering input to cost estimates, schedules, and technical proposals.\nSupport commissioning and field service efforts as needed, including on-site troubleshooting.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.\n3–7 years of experience in industrial electrical control panel design.\nProficiency with electrical CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent.\nStrong working knowledge of NEC, UL 508A, and industrial control system design practices.\nExperience designing panels with PLCs, VFDs, motor starters, and industrial instrumentation.\nAbility to interpret electrical, mechanical, and P&ID drawings.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with UL 698A hazardous-location or purged/pressurized control panel design.\nExperience with wastewater or water treatment control systems.\nFamiliarity with municipal, utility, and environmental compliance requirements.\nExperience in a UL-listed panel shop environment.\nExposure to PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric, or similar.\nEIT or PE licensure is a plus.\nKey Skills & Competencies\nAbility to work independently while recognizing when escalation or peer review is required.\nStrong attention to detail and code compliance.\nEffective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.\nAbility to
