They are required to comply with federal, state, and local transportation regulations, as well as adhere to company policies to ensure efficient and safe operations. Core duties include:\nRoute Planning: Strategically plan delivery routes, taking into account traffic, weather, and road conditions to ensure timely deliveries.\nLoading and Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring items are properly secured to prevent damage during transit.\nVehicle Inspections: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical or safety issues, ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy.\nCommunication: Coordinate with dispatch and customers to confirm delivery schedules, adjust for changes, and provide updates as needed.\nDocumentation Management: Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and other required documentation, ensuring all records are compliant with company standards and regulatory requirements.\nRegulatory Compliance: Adhere to hours-of-service regulations, taking required breaks to ensure compliance with safety standards and avoid fatigue-related risks.\nVehicle Security: Ensure that the vehicle and its cargo are properly secured and safe for operation at all times.\nMaintenance Reporting: Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly to ensure vehicles remain in optimal operating condition.\nVehicle Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, both inside and out, to uphold a professional appearance and ensure safety.\nA successful CDL Driver should demonstrate a clean driving record, a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lift and maneuver heavy objects as required.\nQualifications:\nAn equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent credential required.\nMust possess a valid Hawaii Class B or Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and be at least 21 years of age.\nA clean driving record is required, along with the ability to pass a background check and drug test.\nMust be able to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate and be registered with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.\nMinimum of 2 years of professional driving experience operating Class B or A commercial vehicles and/or relevant training.
