Treatment Plant Construction Inspector
Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionRETTEW is seeking a Treatment Plant Construction Inspector to join our team as a Resident Project Representative. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of a senior project manager to observe and monitor the construction and installation of water and/or sewer treatment plants, pump stations, and other similar projects that are designed and/or constructed by RETTEW. The candidate should be familiar with utilities, buildings, site work, concrete, and other types of construction work to ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications. The Resident Project Representative will be the onsite point of contact with owners and contractors.Responsibilities:Read, and interpret, contract documents, fabrication drawings, and submittals.Review RFI’s, change orders, contracts, and project scopes of work.Observe and monitor construction work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.Observe change order work and record quantities and amounts for billing.Review Contractor pay applications against actual work completed.Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and owners or other stakeholdersEnsure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.Perform quality control inspections.Perform weekly E&S inspections.Prepare and complete punch listsMaintain as-built drawings.Physical Demands:Verbal communication and listening activities are consistently required in this role.Diverse and challenging conditions at construction sites are a possibility, with noise levels significantly high.A significant portion of the tasks are conducted outdoors, exposing the employee to varying weather conditions.Standing for prolonged periods while overseeing critical tasks is required, as well as navigating uneven terrain.In addition to standing, hands are utilized for intricate tasks. Lifting objects weighing up to 20 pounds is a frequent occurrence, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.Tasks such as sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and observing work processes for extended periods are occasionally necessary.Requirements:Associate’s degree in a related field and 2 years of experience in a construction-related field; orNo degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in a construction-related field1-3 years of experience in construction inspection or related fieldKnowledge of construction materials, methods, and proceduresAbility to read and interpret construction plans and specificationsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant softwareValid driver's license and reliable transportationMinimal travel to job sitesRETTEW is a distinguished 100% employee-owned engineering consulting firm, boasting a rich legacy of over 50 years of industry expertise.
