A rapidly growing aerospace manufacturer has stood up a purpose-built jet engine manufacturing, assembly, and test facility dedicated to high-volume UAV propulsion systems. The engines your team assembles won't sit in a warehouse. They'll fly. This is a ground-floor supervisory opportunity inside an operation with startup energy and tier-one aerospace discipline. If you've led precision assembly teams, hold the line on quality without being told to, and want your name on something that actually leaves the ground - keep reading.Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Leadership: Manage 15+ first-shift assembly technicians. Set the pace, hold the standard, and ensure daily and monthly output targets are met without compromising quality.Team Development: Train, mentor, and evaluate technicians on assembly procedures, company policies, and safety protocols. Build a team that performs when the pressure is on.Quality Assurance: Monitor the assembly process for compliance with quality and safety standards. Conduct in-process inspections and functional tests to verify component integrityResource Management: Maintain shop floor parts and supply inventory for zero-downtime production. Coordinate cross-functionally to cut bottlenecks before they ground the line.Production Reporting: Report daily on output and obstacles. Establish and maintain daily and monthly resource plans for all assembly activities.Lean Execution: Lead Gemba walks and Kaizen events. Enforce 5S compliance. Build visual management boards that keep every technician on the same flight plan.Continuous Improvement: Identify inefficiencies, propose solutions, and own implementation.Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve assembly issues in real time. Apply structured corrective action to prevent recurrence.What We're Looking ForAssociate's or bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, or industrial manufacturing OR 5+ years of equivalent supervisory experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing5+ years managing teams of 10 or more in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturingProficiency with precision assembly tooling and equipmentDirect working experience with ERP systemsISO 9001 or AS9100 working knowledge requiredStrong communication skills and the ability to lead with accountabilityU.S. citizen - this is an ITAR-controlled facility; work authorization alone does not qualifyPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in jet engine or propulsion system assemblyLean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated Lean methodology experience (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping)Familiarity with aerospace first article and in-process inspection requirementsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salaryComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement savings plan with company matchStructured professional development and clear pathways for career advancementAdditional DetailsFirst shift position; manufacturing floor environment (PPE required)Role is physically active - regular standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbsUp to 10% international travel required in year one (primarily Europe)Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
