{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"dc6905a6b4c00dc5c9de2f10","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/dc6905a6b4c00dc5c9de2f10","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/dc6905a6b4c00dc5c9de2f10","title":"Chemical Process Technician 2nd Shift","description":"Who are we looking for?\nA person in this position is responsible for operating production equipment to manufacture chemical batches in compliance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and all local state and federal regulations regarding safety, health, and the environment.\n\nWhat will you be doing?\n\nWork from written procedures to process, purify, and chemically fabricate products and their compounds through a sequence of batch operations.\n\nOperate equipment, including reactors, tanks, pumps, mixers, pH meters, level meters, flow meters, valves, and hoses used in the manufacture of said products.\n\nHandle liquid and solid chemicals using pumps, scales and flow meters. Weigh, measure and check raw materials and finished product to ensure that batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities and that accurate inventory is maintained. Perform product weighing, packaging, labeling, and boxing operations in accordance with SOP's.\n\nLocate materials in the warehouse and transport to manufacturing areas using a forklift as needed.\n\nCollect process samples and interface with laboratory personnel for analysis.\n\nMaintain required log sheets including but not limited to batch tickets, packaging sheets, scrubber operation log, pH meter calibration, and equipment inspections.\n\nAttend required HSE training including Hazardous Waste Management, emergency response, and Hazard Communication, and demonstrate an acceptable level of understanding of topics.\n\nPackage, mark, and label Hazardous Waste containers.\n\nOperate equipment and follow procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, OSHA'S 18001 standards.\n\nMaintain housekeeping and 5S standards in work area.\n\nCommunicate with shift leader regarding safety, production, quality, or any other operational issues. Actively participate in shift meetings to assist in work planning and continuous improvement.\n\nWear personal protective equipment as applicable.\n\nComplete all assigned training including corporate, HSE and Quality specific requirements.\n\nTrain other chemical operators in operations, processes, and procedures as needed to ensure efficiencies, safety, and compliance.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nWho are You?\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent with at least 2 years of applicable experience; chemical manufacturing is highly preferred.\n\nExperience with manufacturing specialty chemicals using batch processes.\n\nExperience working in a clean-room environment will be a plus.\n\nForklift certification and Hazardous Waste Operations certification preferable.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills; convey technical information effectively and concisely to engineering, sales, technicians, etc.\n\nWe understand that not all candidates may meet the requirements listed above.
