{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"dc644fb4540ca3bd2e2bb2b2","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/dc644fb4540ca3bd2e2bb2b2","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/dc644fb4540ca3bd2e2bb2b2","title":"Underwriter","description":"The Underwriter will examine & analyze submissions forwarded to Core Specialty by broker partners to determine if the risk is a targeted class of business and subsequently to determine appropriate limits, pricing & terms that will provide Core Specialty with adequate underwriting profit on each risk.\nKey Accountabilities/Deliverables:\nExecution of Product Liability business plans and objectives including:\nBuild Core Specialty’s reputation and presence in the product liability market\nProvide prompt and accurate customer service on policy transactions\nEnsure all risks considered and bound are within delegated authority, underwriting standards, risk selection, peer review and pricing methodologies\nProvide documented evidence of underwriting activities and decisions in files as required\nSupport Company and Department goals and objectives\nBuild Core Specialty’s relationships with our broker partners\nBuild underwriting expertise by training with VP Product liability and team members\nIn addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require.\nCarry out duties within our internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable law, rules, regulation, good governance, and Core Specialty’s shared values, including putting clients at the heart of our business.\n\nTechnical Knowledge and Understanding:\nBase knowledge of Primary Casualty \\ Products Liability underwriting industry\nKnowledge of Primary Casualty underwriting practices, coverage & pricing/rating methodologies\nBase knowledge of producer & competitor marketplace\nSolid knowledge of targeted industries\nBase knowledge of insurance company operations\nUnderstanding of policy wordings and clauses\nUnderstanding of all pricing/underwriting tools available\nUp-to-date knowledge of the insurance market environment\n\nExperience:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience\nAchieved or working towards an industry designation such as ASLI or CPCU\nAbility to travel quarterly within the region to meet assigned brokers in the region\n1-3 years in Casualty marketplace (Underwriting or Brokerage)\nLimited experience working with support devices, including IT, claims, actuarial, and operations\n\n#LI-Hybrid\nAt Core Specialty, you will receive a competitive salary and opportunities for professional development and advancement.
