As an Expanded Learning Program Leader, you will be supervising a group of 15-20 youth between grades Kindergarten through 6th, assisting in the coordination and implementation of the day-to-day operations of the expanded learning program. Program hours are between 12:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., Monday through Friday (Everyday). We offer flexible hours.\nAfter School Sites are located in the cities of Long Beach & Lakewood.\nPrimary job responsibilities include:\nAssist supervisor with planning and implementing the program for students in accordance with organization and agency policies.\nComply with site policies and procedures.\nWork in a team environment.\nDevelop engaging lesson plans that are age appropriate and meet organization and agency guidelines.\nSupervise students at all times.\nCreate a welcoming environment for students.\nMaintain open lines of communication with site stakeholders.\nAttend and participate in staff meetings, trainings and other organization/agency functions as required by supervisor.\nMaintain professional appearance and demeanor.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nWe are looking for candidates who demonstrate a desire to be role models, coaches, and mentors for students!\nSkills/ Requirements\nMust be 18 years of age or older.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\nAdditionally, demonstrate proof of 48 completed college units or pass district’s Instructional Aide exam. Childhood Education/Child Development units preferred.\nCurrent CPR and 1st Aid Certification required within first 3 months of employment.\nClear the Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting).\nConduct health exam and TB test.\nClear Drug Test Screening.\nProof of immunization for Measles, Pertussis, and Influenza.\nComplete New Employee Orientation and Child Abuse Prevention Training.\nAbility to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.\nMinimum of six-months experience working with and supervising children.\nExperience with MAC and PC format computers is preferred.\nBilingual with English/Spanish preferred.\nYMCA Competencies (Leader):\nMission and Community Oriented: Accepts and demonstrates YMCA values.
