You will collaborate with other IT professionals to support the organization's technology needs and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of its IT systems.\nKey Responsibilities:\nNetwork Design and Implementation:\nDesign, configure, and deploy network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices.\nDesign and deploy regional LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless APs and other hardware while providing protection from disaster through redundancy and recovery procedures while working both independently and on a team.\nDevelop network architecture and topology to meet organizational requirements, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.\nInstall and configure network hardware and software components according to best practices and industry standards.\nNetwork Security:\nImplement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and access controls.\nMonitor network traffic for security breaches and vulnerabilities, and take appropriate action to mitigate risks.\nConduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.\nConfigure, manage, and secure crucial data center infrastructure: surveillance, physical security, storage, power, networking, and communications infrastructure.\nNetwork Maintenance and Troubleshooting:\nPerform routine maintenance tasks, such as software upgrades, patches, and backups, to ensure the integrity and availability of the network.\nPractice network asset management using CMDB, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.\nTroubleshoot network issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruptions.\nMonitor network performance and utilization, and optimize network configurations to improve efficiency and reliability.\nMonitor and periodically test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.\nContinually assess the current state of the network against industry best practices and provide recommendations to improve throughput and reduce failure through the use of redundancy and process.\nDocumentation and Reporting:\nMaintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and policies to facilitate knowledge sharing and troubleshooting. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and processes for network administration, utilization, and disaster recovery to include continual improvement.\nGenerate reports on network performance, security incidents, and compliance status for management and stakeholders.\nCollaboration and Support:\nCollaborate with other IT teams, such as systems administrators, software developers, and security specialists, to integrate network infrastructure with other IT systems and applications.\nProvide technical support and assistance to end-users and IT staff, responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and providing guidance on network-related matters.\nServer Maintenance and Upkeep:\nPerform regular maintenance tasks on servers, including updates, patches, and firmware upgrades, to ensure optimal performance and security.\nMonitor server health and performance metrics, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate.\nManage server backups and disaster recovery plans, ensuring data integrity and availability in the event of system failures or disasters.\nImplement and enforce server security measures, such as access controls, encryption, and antivirus software, to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.\nCollaborate with system administrators and other IT teams to coordinate server-related activities and ensure alignment with organizational goals and requirements.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.\n7+ years in enterprise network design and implementation, firewall/switch technologies, QoS design and implementation.\nProfessional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.\nStrong knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, routing protocols, etc.).\nProven experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation.\nProven experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.\nHands-on experience with network equipment from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, etc.\nProficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (Wireshark, SNMP, etc.).\nSupport experience with sniffers, network analyzers, line toners, and network statistics and reporting tools.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.\nAble to travel/drive to multiple locations if necessary.\nExperience using network protocol analyzers and sniffers including WireShark and Fluke tools.
