Interior Designer (3-Month Contract, Potential for Permanent Role)
Job Summary
We are seeking a Residential Interior Designer for a temporary 3-month position to cover an employee's maternity leave, with the potential to become a permanent role. The Residential Interior Designer will coordinate project selections and work closely with salespeople, designers, estimators, and clients. This role is crucial for driving the design selection process to completion, enabling the project to be seamlessly transitioned to the production team.
Responsibilities
Support the Design Directors in the selection process by making detailed choices related to style, finish, and color for all selections.
Assist Design Directors with setting selection appointments, priorities, and due dates.
Input and review all selections in the system and confirm accuracy after client visits to suppliers and trade partners.
Communicate directly with vendors to receive quotes, layouts, specs, and drawings, and serve as the liaison between designer and vendors until the client is satisfied with selections and prices; resolve any issues with incorrect selection quotes, photos, or details.
Explain project scope, client style, statement of allowance, and other details to vendors to help them prepare for finalizing selections with clients.
Obtain construction-related cost variances from the estimator as needed and incorporate them into a client’s allowance and/or change order.
Use Coconstruct software to accurately document and track design projects, including final fixtures and finishes specs and selections, floor plans, cabinetry plans, and project design schedule.
Perform additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in interior design or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience in interior design or a related field.
Residential remodeling experience preferred.
Working knowledge of interior design standards, styles, and trends.
Proven ability to develop and present design concepts.
Strong technical and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Displays a high level of professionalism, honesty, and integrity.
